    Research and Policy
Research is the knowledge base or backbone of our activities. We conduct research into pertinent issues related to agriculture and rural development.  Based on empirical knowledge we analyse and influence policies on sustainable agriculture and rural development.
    Rural Poverty Reduction
Our activities are aimed at rural poverty reduction. Additionally, we initiate development projects aimed at poverty reduction in rural communities. This includes advisory services, logistical support and the provision of basic infrastructure facilities.
    Science, Technology and Mechanisation
The farmer who has access to and knows how to use science (about soil, plants, animals), and technology can produce food in abundance. TRACTOR runs ICT and Agriculture Mechanisation Centres where farmers are supported to apply basic technologies and assisted to access mechanisation services to help increase their productivity.
Sustainable Agriculture, Biodiversity and Organic farming
Biodiversity and organic farming is the only agriculture method that makes for food security, healthy foods, high productivity, soil conservation, and environmental protection. TRACTOR introduces and supports farmers to practice sustainable agriculture.
Environmental Conservation and Climate Change Advocacy
Environmental degradation and climate change threaten agriculture, food security, and poverty reduction. Protecting the environment promotes human wellbeing and reduces the effects of climate change. We get farmers and communities informed about the effects of climate change and get them involved it combating it.

Capacity Building and Knowledge sharing among small-scale rural farmers
Ignorance and the use of poor agriculture methods reduce the productivity of small-scale farmers.  TRACTOR facilitates capacity building programmes, trainings, and knowledge sharing among small-scale rural farmers and rural communities.  These programmes help improve the productivity and increase the income of smallholder farmers.
